Ton ist ein stiller Chronist der Natur - zu finden in den Weiten der Meere, verborgen im Schatten der Wälder oder ruhend an den Ufern der Seen.
Die Farbe und Struktur von gebranntem Ton entsteht durch chemische Prozesse, die sich aus der natürlichen Zusammensetzung der Tonminerale und der Brenntemperatur ergeben. Basis der hier verwendeten Tone sind Tonminerale, die durch die Verwitterung und Sedimentierung mitteleuropäischer Gebirge entstanden. Abhängig von der verwitterten Gesteinsschicht ändert sich die Zusammensetzung der Tonminerale und letztendlich die Beschaffenheit der Keramik.
Der gebrannte Ton erzählt also die jahrmillionenlange geologische Geschichte der Region seines Fundortes.
Clay is a silent chronicler of nature - to be found in the vastness of the seas, hidden in the shadows of forests or resting on the shores of lakes.
The color and structure of fired clay is created by chemical processes resulting from the natural composition of the clay minerals and the firing temperature. The clays used here are based on clay minerals formed by the weathering and sedimentation of Central European mountains. Depending on the weathered rock layer, the composition of the clay minerals and ultimately the nature of the ceramic changes.
The fired clay thus tells the millions of years of geological history of the region where it was found.
